AI could be a useful helper for small forums and online communities if it is used carefully. It can summarise long threads, help new members understand old discussions, suggest clearer titles, improve accessibility, and help moderators spot problems before they take over. Used as a support tool rather than a replacement for humans, AI could make small communities easier to run and more welcoming to join.

This is a much nicer way to think about AI on forums. Not replacing members, just helping people find and understand things

Thread summaries would be brilliant for old forums with years of useful posts buried deep in the archive. TLDR etc

Accessibility is a big one. If AI can help people read, translate, or simplify posts, that is genuinely useful

I like the condition that it stays a support tool. The human feel of a forum still matters most
