This is the most viewed video in YouTube history by a massive margin. It's simple, repetitive, and clearly engineered for kids, but it somehow became the biggest video on the internet

The crazy thing is that it proves a simple idea can beat complexity. A catchy tune, bright colors, and something kids can watch a hundred times without getting bored is basically the perfect recipe for repeat views :)

People underestimate how powerful the toddler audience is. A teenager might watch a music video a few times, but a three year old can request the same song every morning for six months like it is a sacred ritual ;D
Question everything. Especially this.

The algorithm definitely helped, but the content had to be there first. A video does not become enormous just because YouTube recommends it. Millions of kids had to actually enjoy it enough to keep coming back.

It is kind of hilarious that some of the most viewed content in history is not a complicated masterpiece. Meanwhile some artists spend years creating a deep album and a dancing cartoon character walks in and takes the crown :P

The repetition is probably the secret weapon. Adults hear the same ten seconds and start losing their minds, but kids hear it and think they have discovered the greatest song ever made.
