Then there is the genuinely odd inclusion of Keith Richards sitting alongside Morgan Wallen, PinkPantheress and Yung Lean, a spread of genres and generations that would look almost incoherent on paper if it were not for Rockstar's long history of building soundtracks that jump between eras and styles rather than sticking to one lane.

It is not exactly a polished press statement, but it captures the tone of anticipation building around the game better than any official Rockstar copy probably could at this point.

What makes this soundtrack reveal strategy interesting is the sequencing itself. The music has become publicly known and is already generating conversation well before the actual game has shipped, effectively turning the soundtrack into its own promotional wave completely separate from gameplay trailers or story details. For a game that has already broken records for anticipation before a single frame of footage properly circulated, adding a rolling drip of star studded music confirmations only compounds the sense that this release is going to dominate conversation for months regardless of what the actual game turns out to be like.

Whether the final in game radio stations end up using full tracks from all of these artists or just snippets remains to be seen, and Rockstar has a long history of licensing hundreds of songs across its fictional stations rather than centring everything on a handful of big names. Still, having artists as varied as Keith Richards and Yung Lean both confirmed for the same game says a lot about how far Rockstar's cultural reach now extends across genres and generations alike.
