Metal band's on-stage claim of a Bloodlines remake stirs up fans

Fans of Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines have been stirred up by a claim from an unexpected source. PC Gamer's Ted Litchfield reports that a Reddit user says industrial metal band Genitorturers announced on stage that a remake of the cult classic is happening

The claim came from a concert at The Meadows in Brooklyn on 15 October. PC Gamer could not find any corroboration and asked rights holder Activision and the band's representatives for comment. So for now, this is very much an unconfirmed rumour

The band does have a link to the game. Its track Lecher Bitch plays in the Last Round bar in Bloodlines, which many players will remember. That connection makes the claim slightly more interesting than a random rumour

Some commenters think the band may have mixed up news about Bloodlines 2, which finally came out last year after a famously troubled development. That seems a likely explanation, although nobody knows for sure

If a remake ever does happen, Litchfield says he would trust Nightdive Studios most, ideally working with Werner Spahl, known as Wesp5, whose unofficial patch has kept the original playable for years. That would be a dream team for many fans
