Learning guitar has been democratised by YouTube tutorial culture and dedicated apps. JustinGuitar alone has taught millions of people to play at no cost. Yousician and Fender Play provide structured curriculum with real-time feedback. The traditional route of weekly lessons with a local teacher is no longer the only viable path. This is broadly positive. More people playing instruments is good. But self-directed learning has limits. A teacher catches bad habits early. Structured progression beats YouTube rabbit holes. The ideal combination seems to be apps and YouTube for daily practice and occasional teacher sessions for technique correction. Have you learned or are learning an instrument through online resources?
