Subscriptions have crept into every part of life. Streaming services, music, cloud storage, gym memberships, apps, magazines, meal kits, software and even car features now come with monthly fees. Each one seems small on its own, but together they can add up to a frightening amount. Many people have started doing a subscription audit to cut back

The interesting part is how many subscriptions we do not miss once they are gone. A streaming service we only used for one series, a gym we stopped visiting, an app we forgot we were paying for. Some services make cancelling deliberately difficult, hoping people will give up and keep paying. Others are easy to leave, and easy to rejoin later if needed

I recently cancelled two streaming services and a premium app I had not opened in months. Together, they were costing me nearly thirty pounds a month. I now rotate streaming services, subscribing for a month to watch something specific, then cancelling again. It has made no real difference to what I watch. Free trials are particularly easy to forget about

Please share which subscriptions you have cancelled and whether you missed them. Tips for finding forgotten subscriptions or cancelling stubborn ones are welcome too
