Charles Hoskinson argues that Bitcoin's proposed quantum defence would effectively need a hard fork and still would not protect very old coins. The interesting part is not just the technical claim, but the governance problem it points to. If quantum risk becomes urgent, Bitcoin may have to choose between purity, security and ownership rights.
