I want a phone I can use one handed while holding a coffee, and apparently that makes me a market of one. Every flagship now starts at sizes that were called phablets and mocked mercilessly a decade ago. The compact options are either underpowered, ancient, or discontinued the moment I get attached

The manufacturers all say the same thing, small phones do not sell. But I wonder if that is a self fulfilling prophecy when the small option always gets the worse camera, the worse battery and half the marketing. Of course the deliberately gimped version sells badly

Is anyone else holding out, and what are you actually using? I am nursing an ageing compact and dreading the day its battery finally gives up, because the upgrade path looks like choosing which giant slab I resent least
I read every reply. Even the bad ones.

The battery physics argument is real though, small body means small battery and people rank battery life above size every time

Compass

Do they though, or do reviewers rank it and buyers follow? I would trade a day of battery for pocketability instantly

Folding phones were supposed to fix this, big screen that folds small, but the price and durability are still not there

CMPunk88

A folding phone is a small phone the way a folding bike is a small bike, technically true and misses the point

I gave up and got the giant slab and honestly, two weeks later you adapt. The hand learns. I know this is treason in this thread

How do people with the big phones handle running or gym stuff, armband like it is 2012?

Genuine question for OP, what would you pay for a proper compact flagship? Because I suspect the honest number explains why nobody makes one
