Samsung's foldable lineup is about to get genuinely more interesting, three new models land Wednesday

Samsung's summer Galaxy Unpacked event lands July 22 in London at 2pm BST, and for the first time the company is expected to launch three separate foldables at once rather than the usual two. The headline addition is a new, shorter and wider foldable reportedly named simply the Galaxy Z Fold 8, described as feeling closer to a compact tablet than a traditional book-style foldable, with a 7.6-inch inner display in a 4:3 aspect ratio and a 5.5-inch cover screen. It's widely seen as Samsung's direct, pre-emptive answer to Apple's own rumored foldable iPhone

The device previously expected to carry the Z Fold 8 name has reportedly been promoted to Z Fold 8 Ultra status instead, keeping the taller, more traditional book style and ultra-thin build Samsung established with the Fold 7, now said to be slimming down slightly further to 4.1mm while gaining a touch of weight. Leaked specs point to a 200-megapixel main camera, 50-megapixel ultrawide and 10-megapixel 3x telephoto lens, plus a 5,000mAh battery. The Z Flip 8 rounds out the trio with a more conventional refresh, a 6.9-inch inner display, 4.1-inch cover screen, and the same 4,300mAh battery as before but now with faster 45W charging

Samsung is also expected to unveil the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, along with news on its AI glasses efforts and a first proper look at One UI 9 built on Android 17. One detail worth noting for anyone hoping for a budget flip option, reports suggest Samsung isn't bringing back last year's Z Flip 7 FE in any form this cycle

All of this remains pre-launch reporting based on leaks from outlets including Tom's Guide, Forbes, PhoneArena and WinFuture rather than anything Samsung has confirmed, and specs or pricing could still shift before the actual keynote.
