Samsung sent out media invites this week for what it's calling Galaxy Event August 2026, scheduled to livestream globally on August 27 at 8am Eastern time. The company hasn't named the device by name in its announcement, but every signal points toward the Galaxy S26 FE, the more affordable Fan Edition model that typically follows the flagship S26 lineup by several months.

Samsung's invite describes the device as bringing many Galaxy S26 experiences from camera to AI, along with the latest version of One UI, to buyers looking for something more budget friendly than the flagship models. That phrasing lines up with how Samsung has historically framed its FE launches, offering a cut down but still capable version of the main flagship at a lower price point.

Leaks ahead of the event point to a 6.7 inch AMOLED display running at 120Hz, an Exynos 2500 chipset, and Samsung's now standard commitment to seven years of operating system and security updates. Rumored pricing sits somewhere around 799 dollars, though given the ongoing memory and storage pricing crisis affecting the whole industry this year, some coverage suggests the final number could land higher than that.

The timing is notable too. This event lands less than a month after Samsung's previous hardware launch and arrives just ahead of IFA 2026 in Berlin, which kicks off September 4th, positioning Samsung to grab attention before that broader industry event's media cycle takes over
