iOS 27 Beta 7 tweaks CarPlay with pinch to zoom maps

Apple pushed out iOS 27 Beta 7 and the CarPlay side of it picked up a small but genuinely useful change. Apple Maps now supports pinch and zoom gestures on supported CarPlay screens, which sounds minor until you're trying to zoom in on a tricky junction while driving. There's also a new Wi-Fi CarPlay icon showing up in your iPhone's Wi-Fi settings so you can confirm a wireless connection at a glance. Beyond that Siri's animations and icons in CarPlay got some subtle visual tweaks that most people probably won't even notice

Streaming from the Apple TV app while parked is still nowhere to be found, which keeps coming up as a frustration point for people who wanted a proper in car entertainment option. On the iPhone side there are smaller changes too, like refined UI transitions in Music and Podcasts that adjust text colors based on light or dark mode. Siri sports updates now apparently need an explicit request for visual scoreboard results instead of showing them automatically

None of this is a dramatic overhaul, more just Apple polishing corners ahead of the full release. AirPods with the H2 chip reportedly got improved EQ settings too as part of the same update cycle. Feels like a beta focused on cleanup rather than headline features this close to launch
