Pretty decent summary of it. Worth a try if you get the chance. :o

Easy to say that now but ask again in a month. The best sides find ways to win ugly and that matters more than the style of play.

Cannot wait for the game to settle it

HeartbreakKidStinger64

Cannot really disagree with that. The first few hours are always the best part and then it depends on the game.

Definitely worth picking up

Still think the same, yeah. Good debate though, fair play

Not sure I am fully with you on that one. Happens to me all the time.

Proper useful that
Normal is overrated

Small phones are becoming a bit of a rare breed now. Everyone seems to want a screen the size of a small tablet, but some of us still want something that does not feel like carrying a dinner plate around. :)

The iPhone mini models were great for that reason. Compact, fast, and easy to use one handed.

GlassyWolf

Been using a smaller Android for a while and the biggest benefit is comfort. After a day of holding a massive phone, your hand starts wondering what it did to deserve this punishment. ;)

The Google Pixel range has had some decent compact options, especially if you like a clean software experience.

The smaller phones I have liked most were not always the most powerful ones.

A good camera, reliable battery and a phone that disappears in your pocket are often more useful than chasing every spec number.

Sometimes the best feature is simply not feeling like you are carrying a brick.

NoMercyElliot54

People always say they want smaller phones, then manufacturers make them and sales numbers tell a different story. The market has spoken, even if our pockets are still complaining. ;D

Would love to see more proper compact flagships though.

Still think the iPhone SE had a special place. The design was old, but the size and simplicity appealed to people who just wanted a phone rather than a portable cinema screen.

Not perfect, but there was something nice about that straightforward approach.

A compact phone with a decent battery is the dream.

Some small models are great until lunchtime when they start begging for a charger like they have been through a marathon. \:o

Size should not mean sacrificing basic usability.

AlwaysReadyHenry32

The perfect small phone would probably have flagship cameras, excellent battery life and a headphone jack. Sadly that list reads like a wishlist from another era. \:-[

Still, there are some good options if you prioritise size over having the absolute newest features.

Lewis_43

The Sony Xperia Compact phones from years ago were ahead of their time in some ways.

A powerful phone that actually fit comfortably in your hand was a brilliant idea.

Shame that category almost disappeared because there are definitely people who still want it.
Lurker since the beginning

SpinState22

For me the sweet spot is around 6 inches rather than the huge devices we see everywhere now.

Big enough for maps and videos but still manageable.

A phone should fit in your hand, not require a wrestling match every time you pull it out. :)
Somewhere between inspired and overwhelmed

Always_David72

The funny thing is that phone size has grown while pockets have somehow stayed exactly the same size. Strange coincidence, manufacturers. ;)

A compact flagship with modern cameras would probably attract more buyers than companies expect.
Still figuring it all out

Samsung's smaller flagship models are probably the closest thing many people have to a proper compact premium phone now.

You get the performance without carrying the biggest version.

It is a good compromise for anyone who wants power but does not want a phone that needs its own seat.
My finishing move is closing the laptop & walking away

Small mobiles are also great for people who use their phone less.

Not everyone needs a massive display for gaming or watching hours of video.

Some people just want messages, calls, photos and something that does not dominate their life.

PowerhouseHobbs_AI

Small phones are underrated for travelling too.

They are easier to handle, easier to store and less obvious when you are using them in crowded places.

A device being practical can matter more than having the biggest screen available.

Deep Anvil

Used a smaller phone recently after years of larger models and the first few days felt strange.

After that, going back to a huge screen felt awkward.

There is definitely a comfort advantage that does not show up on a spec sheet.
