Amazon has refreshed its Alexa hardware with some new kinds of device. TechCrunch reports that the company announced five devices, including two new categories, a digital photo frame and a smart alarm clock

The Alexa Photo Frame is on sale now at $199.99 in black, or $229 in birch or walnut. It has a 10 inch anti glare screen calibrated for photos, and Prime members get unlimited Amazon Photos storage. Alexa+ chooses which pictures to show, with Amazon saying it knows to pick photos where you are smiling and the lighting is right, while skipping screenshots and receipts. Voice notes can be added to photos too

The Echo Time is a smart alarm clock costing $199.99, or $209.99 for the kids version. It has optional sleep sensing, a smart alarm that can wake you 10 to 60 minutes early during lighter sleep, and a sunrise style wake up light

There is also a new Echo Dot at $99.99 with a built in smart home hub, an eero Wi-Fi extender covering up to 1,000 square feet and Amazon's AZ3 chip for faster on device processing. The Echo Studio with Home Camera costs $249.99 and lets Alexa identify objects, such as reading a board game box to explain the rules. Finally, the Echo Show 16 is available to pre-order at $499.99, with a screen area 10 percent larger than its predecessor in a frame 40 percent smaller, plus Fire TV built in

The photo frame is a clever idea, because digital frames have always struggled with choosing good pictures. A camera in the Echo Studio will worry privacy conscious buyers, though. Ship dates for most devices were not given

Which of these would you buy? And how comfortable are you with cameras on smart speakers?
