New members: which board did you come for, and which one accidentally kept you here?

A welcome thread with a twist for anyone new, and a nostalgia hit for the veterans. Almost nobody ends up mainly using the board they originally joined for, so tell us which section brought you through the door, and which completely different one quietly became your actual home once you settled in

The pattern is lovely and near universal, people arrive for the practical reason, a tech problem, a hobby, the football, and then discover the general chat or the creative boards or the daft games and realise the thing they came for was the excuse and the community was the reason they stayed

For the new folks this doubles as a map, the regulars can point you toward the corners that are friendlier or quieter or more your speed than the busy front rooms, because every forum has hidden gems that do not show up in the join now pitch and only reveal themselves once you are in

So introduce yourself with the two answers, the board you came for and the board that kept you, and veterans, share yours too and maybe nudge a newcomer toward the corner you think they would love, the best welcome is a good recommendation from someone who found their home the same way
