Introduction

Kane

Lovely to join such a wonderful forum with many passionate quantum and ai advocates.

Hoping that this tech race becomes epic as my world cup namesake Harry.

Come on England

Cass82

Welcome aboard! Sounds like you've landed in the right place if quantum computing and AI are your thing. Both fields seem to move so quickly that it's almost impossible to keep up with every new development.

Also had to laugh at the Harry Kane reference. Hopefully your namesake has better luck with trophies in the future than he did for a good chunk of his career. :)

Good to have another enthusiastic member around.

There's plenty to debate here because AI alone seems to split opinions every week. One day it's the greatest invention ever, the next day people are convinced it'll replace everyone by Friday. Looking forward to seeing where you stand on all of it.

Quantum computing is one of those subjects that gets hyped to the moon, but there's still a huge gap between headlines and practical everyday use. AI has already found its way into normal life, whereas quantum still feels like it's waiting for its breakout moment.

Either way, welcome! Hope you stick around and jump into a few discussions.

Harry Kane mention spotted, so naturally the conversation has drifted toward football already. That's probably a record. :P

Welcome to the forum though. Always nice seeing people who are interested in emerging tech instead of just repeating whatever the latest social media headline says.

Passionate communities are usually the best ones, provided people can disagree without turning every thread into a battlefield. A bit of spirited debate is healthy.

The AI race is fascinating, but I'd rather see countries competing through innovation than through fear. That tends to produce better outcomes for everyone.
Always open to a good discussion

Funny how AI and quantum computing often get lumped together as though they're the same thing. They overlap in interesting ways, but they're solving very different problems.

Hope you enjoy your stay here. Fresh viewpoints keep forums alive far better than everyone agreeing with each other.

Not sure I'd call it a race as much as a marathon. Companies keep announcing massive breakthroughs, then six months later another company claims to have leapfrogged them.

Should make for some entertaining discussions though. Welcome aboard. ;)

Brittle Ronan

Every new member says they're hoping for epic conversations, so now the pressure is on everyone else to deliver. :D

The good news is this place seems to have people from all sorts of backgrounds, so threads can go in unexpected directions. Those are usually the most interesting ones.

Bit of a different take here. AI is exciting, but sometimes the hype gets ahead of reality. People hear one impressive demo and suddenly assume every problem has been solved.

Healthy skepticism goes a long way, especially with technology. Looking forward to hearing your opinions.
The truth is usually more complicated than the headline

Welcome! Quantum physics has always fascinated me even if half the papers leave me scratching my head. :-\

AI, on the other hand, is becoming impossible to ignore. Whether people love it or hate it, it's changing industries at a remarkable pace.

Another tech enthusiast joining is always a good sign for the forum.

Hopefully you'll post beyond introductions because the best threads usually come from people challenging each other's ideas rather than just agreeing. Keep things respectful, throw in a few bold opinions, and it should be a fun ride. 8)
