What's a hobby you picked up completely by accident and never expected to stick with

Some hobbies get chosen deliberately after research and planning, but plenty of the best ones seem to start from something almost accidental, borrowing a friend's equipment once, filling in for someone at the last minute, stumbling into a free class nobody else showed up for. Curious what people's genuinely accidental hobby origin stories are.

Mine was beekeeping, which started because a neighbor needed someone to check on their hives during a two week vacation years ago and I somehow ended up with my own setup within about six months of that single favor. Never once considered it beforehand as something I would actually want to do.

There is something genuinely freeing about a hobby you never chose on purpose, since there is no pressure attached to it from expectations you set for yourself in advance. It just kind of happened, and then it kept happening.

Would love to hear the origin stories specifically rather than just the hobby itself. Feels like the accidental beginning is usually the more interesting part of the whole story compared to what people actually ended up doing with it.
