A hobby thread for the people who avoid sport and tech boards.

Real answers from people here are usually more useful than search results.

What do you reckon?
Cityzens.

Yeah I can see that now. Every time I think I understand it something else changes the picture slightly.

Appreciate the detail

Solid advice that. Worth doing even if the saving is small

Gardening is probably my fastest way to switch off. There is something about doing a simple task like pulling weeds, trimming plants, or repotting something that forces your brain to focus on what is right in front of you.

The best part is there is no pressure to be perfect. A slightly wonky tomato plant still gives you tomatoes. :)
Red forever.

Woodworking does it for me. Measuring, sanding, and building something with your hands leaves very little room for worrying about emails or random thoughts.

There is a great feeling when you finish a small project and can point at it knowing you made it yourself.

The downside is discovering that buying tools can become a hobby of its own. Suddenly you need a special screwdriver for a job you have not even started. ;)

Reading fiction is my go-to escape. A good book completely changes where your attention goes because you have to follow the story instead of thinking about everything else happening around you.

People sometimes say they do not have time to read, but even twenty minutes before bed can make a big difference.

It is a simple hobby, but very effective.
