Curious what people here are into or have moved on from. I got heavily into film photography for about 8 months and then quietly stopped when lab costs started adding up. Now I am learning woodturning on a very small lathe in the garage. Anyone else cycle through hobbies quickly or do you tend to stick with things long-term?
VAR can do one

Film photography is a beautiful hobby to burn out on. You get the experience and then the cost of living brings you back down to earth

Picked up sourdough properly this year after years of half-attempts. The slow pace of it is weirdly good for the brain

Dropped gym in favour of swimming laps three times a week. Less intense, completely sustainable, actually enjoy it

Got into mechanical keyboard building during a slow period at work and now I have more keyboards than I will ever need or justify

Woodturning is meditative once you get the basics. What lathe did you go for? Mini lathes vary a lot in quality at the budget end

I cycle through hobbies every 6 months roughly. My partner says it is a personality trait. I say it is curiosity
