We are halfway through 2026. The January resolution survival rate is statistically awful but some habits do stick. Curious what people here have actually kept going this year rather than the ones that lasted three weeks. Could be anything - fitness, diet, reading, creative, financial, sleep. What is working and what made it stick when previous attempts did not?

Walking 10,000 steps every day. Started in January and have not missed a day. The key for me was buying a decent pair of headphones and treating the walk as dedicated podcast time rather than exercise. The exercise is a side effect of something I actually enjoy

No phone for the first 30 minutes after waking. Sounds small but it has genuinely changed the quality of the first part of every morning. I replaced it with making coffee slowly and reading something on paper. The difference in how the day starts is noticeable

Weekly meal planning with a proper shopping list. Not aspirational planning where I write things down and then order a takeaway anyway - actual commitment to the plan. Waste is dramatically lower and the weekly spend on food is down about 40 pounds

Cold water swimming on Saturday mornings with a group from work. The social element is what makes it stick. If I was doing it alone I would have given up in February when it was genuinely freezing
Coffee first. Questions later.
