[Travel] The most overrated tourist destination you've actually visited yourself

Times Square. Genuinely one of my least favorite places I've ever stood in, overpriced everything, packed shoulder to shoulder, and once you've seen the lights for ninety seconds there's just nothing else actually there to do

I think a lot of these places survive purely on momentum, everyone's seen it in movies so everyone expects to feel something standing there, and then the actual experience is crowds and price gouging rather than whatever magic the photos promised

Not looking for a debate about objectively beautiful places, more curious what people genuinely regretted the trip to once they were actually standing there
