There's a constant push toward high end builds, expensive GPUs, top tier CPUs, but most games don't actually need that level of hardware.

A mid range system can handle the majority of games at good settings, especially at 1080p or 1440p. Yet people still spend way more than they need to.

Even something simple like this for storage is more than enough for most users:
Crucial P3 Plus 1TB NVMe SSD

And RAM beyond a certain point doesn't change much for gaming:
Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 16GB Kit

It feels like a lot of builds are driven by hype rather than actual needs.

So do you really need a high end PC, or is mid range more than enough now?
