CPU, GPU, RAM, storage, case, the lot. Doesn't need to be top of the line, budget builds and weird component combos are just as welcome as anything flashy. Post a photo if you've got one handy.

There is something deeply satisfying about a build that is not just a list of current-gen parts. My old machine is still running a Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB DDR4, an RX 6600 and a collection of mismatched SSDs that somehow became a storage strategy.

The funny part is that it still handles pretty much everything I throw at it. Cyberpunk needs a few settings compromises, but for general use and older games it is ridiculously competent for what I paid. Budget builds deserve more love around here

The weird component combos are my favourite part of these threads. Somebody will inevitably post a tiny ITX case with a server CPU, laptop RAM adapter and a GPU that looks like it was rescued from a different computer entirely.

Meanwhile, my current build is aggressively boring: 7800X3D, 32GB DDR5, RTX 4070 Super, 2TB NVMe and a Fractal case. It works brilliantly, but there is no mad science involved. The most exciting thing I have done is route the GPU cable neatly.

That probably says more about my priorities than I want to admit
