Standing desks have been mainstream for years now but the quality range is still enormous. Looking at doing a proper build with a motorised frame rather than the cheap fixed risers. Flexispot, Uplift and similar motorised options are on my radar. More interested in people who have been using them for a year or more rather than first impressions. Do you actually stand, does it help, and what do you wish you had known before buying?
It's not a bug, it's a feature

Flexispot E7 frame with a custom oak top. Have been using it for two years. The motor is still smooth, the programmable height memory works perfectly, and I paid significantly less than an Uplift equivalent
Here more than I should be

Cable management is the thing you do not think about until the desk is built and you have a waterfall of cables visible every time you raise it. Plan that before you buy the frame

The honest truth is you will not stand as much as you think. Buy the desk for the flexibility and the ability to adjust for different tasks, not because you expect to stand all day

Anti-fatigue mat is non-negotiable if you are going to stand for more than 30 minutes. Without one your lower back will end the standing experiment within a week

I bought the Uplift V2 Commercial and four years later the motor is still perfectly calibrated and it has never skipped a height setting. Worth the premium for daily use

The bar-style footrest you can hook on the frame is underrated. Being able to shift weight and lean slightly while standing makes it sustainable for much longer periods
