Here is a new monthly thread idea. At the start of each month, we look back at the news story we followed most closely in the previous month. It might be big world news, tech, sport, entertainment or something local that mattered to you. Looking back like this helps us see what caught our attention, and sometimes what we missed

To keep things friendly, let's avoid politics, war and religion, as those discussions tend to go badly on forums. There was plenty else going on in September. On this forum alone, we covered OpenAI scrapping the release of a model over safety concerns, the rogue AI agent incidents, Google's Gemini 4 Argon and a wave of quantum computing announcements

In sport, Luke Littler's shock early exit at the World Grand Prix and AEW's tribute to PAC after his sudden death both drew a lot of discussion. The AI money debate, with warnings from the Bank of England and others, was another big theme. Gaming fans had plenty of autumn releases to look forward to

My most followed story was the rogue AI agent incidents. It felt like science fiction suddenly becoming real, and every new detail made it more interesting and more worrying. I must have read every update

Which story did you follow most closely in September, and why did it grab you?
