What is something you believed strongly ten years ago that you have now completely changed your mind about

Most people, if they are honest with themselves, held at least one opinion a decade ago that they would genuinely cringe at now, whether that is a political position, a belief about how to raise children, a strong opinion about a particular diet or lifestyle choice, or even something as simple as a firmly held view about which career path actually leads to happiness. Changing your mind on something you once argued passionately for is not usually comfortable, and plenty of people go out of their way to avoid ever admitting it happened at all.

What is interesting is that the shift rarely comes from a single dramatic argument that suddenly changes everything, it is usually a slow accumulation of small experiences and conversations that eventually tip the balance without you quite noticing until you look back and realise how differently you now think. So what is the belief you held strongly ten years ago that you would genuinely argue against today, and what do you think actually caused the change?

I was absolutely certain a university degree was the only real path to a stable career. Watching people I know build genuinely successful lives through trades and self taught skills completely changed my mind on that one.
