It is finally that time of year when people start making summer plans or realising they have not made any and quietly panicking about it. The World Cup is going to eat a significant portion of many people's schedules regardless of what else happens, but beyond that I am curious what everyone is actually doing.

I have some vague plans that are either coming together or not depending on factors I cannot control yet. There is a trip I have been talking about for two years that may or may not actually happen this summer. I have decided to stop predicting it and just let it either happen or not.

Anyone doing anything interesting, whether ambitious travel or sensibly staying home and enjoying the long evenings? What does summer look like from where you are?

Staying in the UK deliberately this year. The summers have been beautiful enough recently that I wanted to actually be here for one instead of rushing somewhere to experience weather I can get at home.

Big trip planned for September which is technically not summer but the anticipation is doing summer work for me emotionally. Something to aim at while I get through July and August.
