Imagine stepping outside in 2050. The city around you barely resembles what we know today.
Skyscrapers stretch into clouds, their surfaces alive with holographic displays advertising products that do not exist yet, broadcasting news in real time, and shifting colour with the weather. Glass and steel have given way to smart materials that generate their own energy from sunlight and movement.

The streets below are wet from an automated cleaning cycle that runs every few hours. There are no petrol engines, no exhaust fumes. The air smells cleaner than anything we know today. Vehicles move silently, guided by AI traffic systems that have eliminated gridlock entirely.
Neon still exists but it is smarter. Storefronts respond to who is walking past. Adverts shift based on your preferences before you even notice them. Privacy as we know it is either heavily protected by law or a distant memory, depending on which city you live in.

Not everyone agrees this future is a good thing. Some communities have deliberately opted out, building low tech neighbourhoods where screens are banned and nature is prioritised. The divide between those who embrace technology and those who reject it has become one of the defining cultural tensions of the age.

What do you think?
Will cities in 2050 look anything like this? Will you want to live in one? Or would you prefer a quieter corner of the world away from the glow?
