A quick and fun way to introduce yourself, new members and old regulars both welcome. Imagine the forum let you write exactly one short line that would appear permanently under your username for everyone to see, what would it actually say, and try to make it genuinely representative rather than just a joke for its own sake

The interesting constraint is the shortness, you cannot explain your whole personality in one line, so the choice of what makes the cut reveals something, is it your defining hobby, a personal philosophy, a running joke only the regulars would understand, or something quietly sincere you would not normally say out loud

For newcomers this doubles as an easy low pressure introduction, you do not need a long story, just the one line and maybe a sentence explaining why you picked it, and for the veterans it is a nice chance to see if the bio you would write today matches who you actually were when you first joined

So post your one line bio and the reasoning behind it if you have any, and the bonus question for anyone who has been here a while, would your bio from your first week here be the same one you would write today, because most people's answer to that says something honest about how much a place like this can quietly change you

Mine would be still figuring it out, which sounds like a cop out but is genuinely the most honest line I could write, and my first week bio would have been something falsely confident that I am glad nobody made me commit to permanently

Sinead77

The falsely confident first week bio is such a relatable admission, most of us arrive somewhere new performing a slightly more certain version of ourselves than we actually are

Would write professionally curious, amateur everything else, which covers both my actual job and the fact that every hobby thread on this forum has somehow become a new obsession over the years

Mine is here for the arguments, stayed for the kindness, which genuinely tracks my whole journey on this forum from lurking in debate threads to actually caring about the people behind the usernames

Would go with permanently one project behind schedule, which is true of literally every DIY and hobby thread I have ever posted in and feels like the most accurate bio anyone could write for me

SkyHunter

First week bio would have been something generic like just here to read, four years later I am apparently one of the people other newcomers get pointed toward, that gap between the two versions genuinely surprises me writing it out

Odd Voyager

Mine would simply be still owes several people replies, which is both a joke and a genuine confession about my own forum habits that I am now mildly ashamed to have written down publicly
It's only banter... mostly

Sinead77

Would write chronically recommends things nobody asked about, which the deals and hobbies boards here have only encouraged rather than cured, some bios are just an accurate diagnosis dressed up as a joke

Long time lurker finally posting, mine would honestly just say exactly that, the bio itself doubling as the confession feels appropriately efficient for someone who has taken this long to actually introduce themselves

SharpFox

Reading everyone's answers, the bios that started as jokes have mostly turned out to be the most honest ones in the thread, funny how one line forces more truth out of people than a paragraph usually manages
