The picture is more complicated than a simple story of a sober generation though. Data from Lumina Intelligence cited elsewhere shows UK alcohol occasions among 18 to 34 year olds actually rose 4.2 percentage points year on year, suggesting younger drinkers may be shifting toward quality over quantity rather than abandoning alcohol altogether, choosing fewer, more premium drinking occasions instead.
