Most people think they are being productive online when they are not. Watching tutorials, reading threads, saving posts, and researching ideas all feel like progress. But a lot of the time, it replaces actually doing anything.

It's a subtle trap. You convince yourself you are learning or preparing, but you never move into action. Hours pass and you have more information but nothing to show for it. That creates a false sense of productivity that feels good in the moment but frustrating later.

The internet makes this easy because there is always more to consume. Another video, another guide, another opinion. There is no natural end point, so you never feel "done".

Real productivity usually feels different. It is slower, sometimes uncomfortable, and requires focus without constant stimulation. That is why people drift back to consumption. It feels easier and more rewarding in the short term.

The fix is simple but not easy. Set a clear point where you stop consuming and start doing. Even something small breaks the cycle.

So be honest.
How often do you replace action with scrolling and call it progress?
