After more than ten years, Witchbrook has a release date. GamesRadar reports that Chucklefish announced at Nintendo's Indie World Showcase that the cosy life sim will launch on 28 January 2027

Witchbrook is a magic school role playing game set in a seaside town, often compared with Stardew Valley. It was already confirmed for PC, Xbox, Switch and Switch 2, and a PS5 version has now been added for the same launch day

The game will cost $24.99 in the US. Standard and collector's physical editions will follow after the digital launch, which Chucklefish says avoids disrupting the schedule

Witchbrook was first teased more than a decade ago. It was planned for winter 2025, then pushed to 2026, and has now slipped into January 2027. The developers thanked fans for their patience and said they cannot wait to open Witchbrook College's doors to new students

Cosy games remain hugely popular, and Witchbrook has been one of the most anticipated in the genre for years. Adding PS5 on day one means far more people can play it at launch. After several delays, fans will be hoping this date holds

Will you be playing Witchbrook in January? And do long development times make you more or less excited for a game?
