Something is coming for Pokémon fans at the end of the month. Nintendo Life reports that the Japanese Pokémon account has been posting 30th anniversary icons with steadily falling numbers

The numbers have dropped from 1,025 on 18 October to 843 on 26 October and 676 on 2 November. Serebii's Joe Merrick worked out that the countdown will reach zero at 14:00 UTC on 30 November 2026

The latest post roughly translates as continue with Pokémon. The starting figure of 1,025 matches the number of Pokémon in the National Pokédex

Fans have guessed at a Ruby and Sapphire release on Nintendo Switch Online, an update about Pokémon Winds and Waves, the Switch 2 game due in 2027, or a Pokémon Presents broadcast. None of these have been confirmed

Countdowns like this are great for building excitement, and the 30th anniversary year has already been packed with celebrations. A Pokémon Presents with Winds and Waves news would be the biggest possibility. Whatever it is, fans will be watching on the 30th

What do you think the Pokémon countdown is for? And what would you most like to see announced?
