The next Elder Scrolls game may finally have a name soon. Video Games Chronicle, relaying a report from The Verge, says Microsoft is preparing to officially name it The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel, possibly as soon as November

VGC suggests the announcement could be timed for Skyrim's 15th anniversary on 11 November, although that is its own interpretation rather than a confirmed date. Sources say the game is set in Hammerfell, though the setting is not expected to be revealed alongside the title

The report says the game will explore the series' history and secrets. Fans have long theorised that it takes place around the Iliac Bay and the Sentinel region, based on the brief teaser shown in 2018

Former Skyrim lead designer Bruce Nesmith said last month that an Iliac Bay setting would set the game up for a big expansion into seafaring. Hammerfell has appeared before in Daggerfall, The Elder Scrolls Online and the 1998 spin off Redguard. GamesRadar adds that Bethesda is reportedly showing gameplay internally

None of this is confirmed yet, but an official title would be the first real news about the game in years. Fans have waited a very long time since Skyrim. Even a name would be a big moment

Are you excited for The Elder Scrolls VI? And would a Hammerfell setting suit the series?
