Sony announces see-through PS5 Prism controllers and console covers

[Apogee Evan]

Transparent gaming hardware is back. Kotaku reports that Sony has announced the Prism Collection, a range of see-through DualSense controllers and PS5 console covers

The collection comes in Flare Orange, Emerald Green and Graphite Gray. The controllers have a high gloss clear back that shows off the internals, along with a metallic middle section

Designer Leo Cardoso said the range brings back the late 1990s trend for transparent hardware, adding that Sony knows how much fans have been looking forward to the return of see-through controllers

Controllers will cost $85 and covers $75. Pre-orders open on 10 November at 10am local time on the PlayStation Store, but shipping does not start until 4 February 2027. Regional availability has not been confirmed

Translucent hardware is pure nostalgia for anyone who grew up with see-through Game Boys and N64 controllers. They look great, and the price is in line with other special edition DualSense controllers. The long wait until February is a shame for anyone hoping for a Christmas present

Will you be buying a Prism controller? And which colour would you choose?
