There may be good news for fans of Sony's Bend Studio. Push Square relays a report from MP1st claiming Bend plans to reveal and possibly release its next game in 2027, and that the project is much further along than many expect

According to the report, the game is a third person title with co-op features. It is reportedly not a live service game and not a Days Gone sequel. Sony has not announced anything, and Push Square has not independently confirmed the details

Bend is best known for Days Gone, its biggest and most recent game. Reports have said the studio pitched a sequel that Sony turned down, although some dispute how far that pitch went. Bend then worked on a live service game, which Sony cancelled in January 2025

Over more than 20 years with Sony, Bend also made the Syphon Filter series, Resistance: Retribution on PSP and Uncharted: Golden Abyss on PS Vita. The rumoured timing would place its game alongside other reported PlayStation releases in 2027

This is a single outlet rumour, so caution is needed. Still, it would be welcome news after the studio's cancelled project. A co-op focus fits Sony's recent interest in multiplayer without the risks of a full live service game

What would you like Bend Studio to make next? And should Sony give Days Gone a sequel?
