Gaming history is full of brilliant franchises that simply stopped. Sometimes the studio closed, sometimes sales dipped and sometimes the publisher lost interest. Fans keep asking for them to return, and occasionally they do, but most stay buried. Let's play publisher for a moment

Pick a dormant series and pitch a comeback. What would the new game look like? Which developer should make it, which platforms would it be on and what would you change from the originals? You can go for a faithful remake, a bold reinvention or something completely unexpected

There are plenty of candidates. Banjo-Kazooie, Timesplitters, Jet Set Radio, Burnout, Spyro's later games, Dino Crisis, Ape Escape, Star Wars Republic Commando and many more have their fans. Some revivals, like Crash Bandicoot and the Galactic Racer project from ex Burnout developers, show there is demand for older ideas. Others prove how hard it is to recapture old magic

Think about what made the original special and how that would work today. Modern players expect different things, so simply rereleasing an old game might not be enough. A good pitch needs to respect the past while making sense in 2026. Studios want proof of demand before taking risks

Which franchise do you bring back, and what is your pitch?

Jet Set Radio with a big open city to tag. The art style would look incredible on modern hardware. Hideki Naganuma's music is ready and waiting
