Bluepoint's Demon's Souls remake has been a PS5 exclusive since launch in 2020, but it is now running on PC unofficially. PC Gamer's Jess Kinghorn reports that the game works through KytyPS5, a translation layer that converts PS5 code to run on PC hardware

YouTuber Geralt Benchmarks tested it on an RTX 5070 graphics card with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor. With DLSS frame generation turned on, it passes 100 frames per second at 1440p and holds a mostly steady 120 at 1080p. On PS5, the performance mode is capped at 60 frames per second at 1440p

Without frame generation, and with settings similar to the PS5, it occasionally goes above 70 frames per second. It is far from perfect, though. The footage shows noticeable hitching, and the PS5 version is much more consistent

The piece also mentions that the PS3 emulator RPCS3 has tightened its rules on AI generated code submissions. Emulation projects rely on careful, accurate work, so guarding quality makes sense

Seeing a modern console exclusive running on PC this soon is remarkable, even if it is rough. Sony may not be pleased, and an official PC port would be far better. Until then, the PS5 remains the best way to play

Would you rather wait for an official PC port? And how do you feel about emulating current generation consoles?

Demon's Souls on PC would sell well. Plenty of PC players never bought a PS5. Sony is leaving money on the table. Official ports have sold well for Sony before
