Most of us have imagined living in a game world. But usually we picture ourselves as the hero, saving kingdoms, slaying dragons or piloting starships. Here is a twist. Which game world would you move into if you had to live there as an ordinary person with an ordinary job?

Suddenly the choice changes a lot. Living in Skyrim sounds lovely until you realise dragons attack villages and bandits are everywhere. Being a shopkeeper in a Fallout wasteland is unlikely to be pleasant. A farmer in Stardew Valley's Pelican Town, on the other hand, sounds rather nice. So does running a cafe in Animal Crossing, where the worst thing that happens is someone stealing your fruit. Think of it as a very nerdy careers fair

Some worlds might be exciting places to work, as long as you keep your head down. A mechanic in a Mass Effect space station, a chef in a Zelda town or a groundskeeper at a Pokemon gym could be good options. Others would be terrifying, like anywhere in a horror game or most of the Dark Souls series

Think about safety, community, food, weather and how likely you are to be eaten by a monster. Pick a job too, as that is half the fun

Which world do you move to, and what is your job there?

Pokemon Centre nurse. Healing cute creatures all day sounds lovely

Hours might be long though. Free healing for everyone is a lovely healthcare model, to be fair
