Phantom Blade Zero has had a huge launch. GamesRadar reports that S-Game's action RPG reached a peak of 595,711 concurrent players on Steam around ten hours after release, according to SteamDB, and the number was still rising

That makes it the second biggest Steam launch of 2026, behind only Palworld 1.0. It also puts the game among the top 20 highest concurrent player peaks in Steam history, ahead of Hollow Knight: Silksong, Slay the Spire 2 and Terraria

The game launched on PC and PS5. Before release, Alinea Analytics estimated it had already sold more than a million copies across both platforms, although that figure is an estimate rather than a confirmed number

Phantom Blade Zero received strong reviews, with a Metacritic score in the high 80s, and is nominated for Ultimate Game of the Year at the Golden Joysticks. Steam peaks often come on the first weekend after release, so the record could climb further

For a Chinese studio's first big budget game, this is an extraordinary result, and it follows the success of Black Myth: Wukong. Strong reviews and word of mouth clearly translated into sales. S-Game has arrived as a major developer

Have you played Phantom Blade Zero yet? And how high do you think its Steam peak will go?
