Leaked Mass Effect trailer is confirmed real and shows Liara in the Milky Way

A leaked Mass Effect trailer has turned out to be authentic. Push Square reports that the trailer, which appeared online this week, has been verified by Bloomberg's Jason Schreier and by IGN

The footage appears to show the next Mass Effect, which some have been calling Mass Effect Universe. It features Liara T'Soni, one of the most loved characters from the original trilogy, and the setting looks to be the Milky Way rather than the Andromeda galaxy

Reports suggest the trailer may have been prepared for N7 Day on 7 November, when BioWare traditionally shares Mass Effect news. Push Square's headline describes it as offering a glimpse of a cancelled game, which has added to the confusion about what state the project is in

Author Catherynne Valente also commented, according to the report. BioWare and EA have not officially confirmed the details of the trailer

Seeing Liara again will thrill long time fans, and a return to the Milky Way is what many people wanted after Andromeda. The uncertainty around the project's status is worrying, though. Hopefully N7 Day brings clear answers

What do you hope the next Mass Effect looks like? And does returning to the Milky Way make you more excited?
