Rockstar has surprised fans with the launch trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, the first new trailer in more than a year. GamesRadar's Austin Wood reports that it reached a million YouTube views in about half an hour. The game launches on 19 November on PS5 and Xbox Series X and S

The trailer debuts a new song, Flower in a Hurricane by Justice featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. It will appear on the game's official soundtrack album. Rockstar has always had a great ear for music, and this is a big name collaboration

The story details are intriguing. Jason refers to a rough exit from the military, and Lucia is shown wearing an ankle monitor. The video description says an easy score goes wrong and pulls them into a criminal conspiracy across the state of Leonida. Their relationship looks central to the story

Helicopters dominate the action. One crashes behind Jason, Lucia fires a grenade launcher from another, and a third swings stolen cargo through a row of windows. The pair also leap from a roof into a hotel pool. The trailer was captured on PS5 and carries PlayStation branding

After years of waiting and plenty of leaks, it is great to finally see Rockstar showing the game on its own terms. The trailer looks spectacular and gives just enough story to build excitement without spoiling too much. Five weeks to go

What was your favourite moment in the trailer? And are you buying on day one?
