After being a PS5 exclusive for over a year, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth lands on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S on June 3. The second part of Square Enix's remake trilogy is one of the highest rated JRPGs of the last decade. Switch 2 owners in particular have been waiting a long time and this is a meaningful moment for the platform's JRPG library

Switch 2 getting Rebirth is a huge get. The first remake already showed the hardware can handle it, so this was always going to happen eventually

This is what a year of exclusivity looks like from the inside. PS5 players got it, now everyone else gets it. I would have preferred it day one everywhere

The Xbox version is the interesting test. Series X sales have been rough and a high-profile JRPG could actually shift some units

Rebirth is a masterpiece. The open world is massive, the combat is refined, and the story does things the original could only hint at. Enjoy it if it is your first time

Now I have to decide whether to replay it on Switch 2 handheld mode. The answer is obviously yes
It's only banter... mostly

Totally

Have you tried turning it off and on again?
