Cult of the Lamb is getting a Nintendo Switch 2 version. Nintendo Life reports that developer Massive Monster will release it on 22 October, and owners of the original Switch version can upgrade for free. That is the kind of upgrade policy players love to see

New buyers will pay the same price as the Switch 1 version, although the exact figure has not been given. Devolver Digital is credited as publisher. No details on visual improvements were included, but Switch 2 versions usually bring better resolution and performance

For anyone who missed it, Cult of the Lamb mixes roguelike dungeon runs with a management sim. You play a possessed lamb who builds a cult, gathers followers and keeps them happy, all wrapped in a cute and darkly funny art style

Nintendo Life gave the original Switch release 8 out of 10 in 2022, calling it a satisfyingly stressful sim. The game has had several free and paid updates since launch, so there is plenty of content for new players

Free upgrades should be the standard, and it is good to see an indie developer leading the way. Some big publishers charge for Switch 2 editions, which does not always go down well. This is a nice gesture for loyal players

Have you played Cult of the Lamb? And should every Switch 2 upgrade be free?
