Creative Assembly is distancing itself from the troubled Shogun 2 remaster. PC Gamer reports that CA's Roger Collum has said the remaster was not a Creative Assembly developed game

The remaster was developed by Mataboo, an outside studio. It has faced criticism from players since launch, and Collum's comments appear to put the responsibility on the partner rather than CA itself

Collum also addressed questions about AI. He said Creative Assembly only uses AI tools for analysis, debugging and prototyping, not for creating final content in its games

Shogun 2 is one of the most loved games in the Total War series, so fans had high hopes for the remaster. Many feel a classic deserved better treatment, whoever made it

Blaming a partner studio rarely goes down well with fans. CA's name and the Total War brand were on the box, so players hold CA responsible regardless. Owning the problem and fixing it would win more goodwill than pointing fingers

Is it fair for CA to blame Mataboo? And what should a Shogun 2 remaster have done differently?
