Destiny fans have been given a roadmap, and it may include a long requested surprise. PC Gamer reports that Bungie's latest community update sets out plans for bringing back vaulted Destiny 2 content, and hints strongly that the original Destiny is coming to PC

Bungie reversed its decision to wind down Destiny 2 in September and promised to restore content that had been removed. The new update sorts plans into three tiers: a first pass, stretch goals and items unlikely to happen

Head of product Josh Deane said pre-production runs until January or February 2027, followed by about twelve months of porting work, pointing to early 2028. He added that some things are subject to change

The plan has three anchors: a Destiny 2 celebration, a project called Destiny Legacy that will serve the original game where you play today, with more information in early 2027, and a redacted project. PC Gamer reads the Destiny Legacy wording as a strong hint that the console only original will reach PC, although that is its interpretation. Bungie will not appear at this year's Game Awards and calls this a true reset moment for Bungie, Marathon and Destiny

Bringing back vaulted content would undo one of the most unpopular decisions in Destiny's history. The original game on PC would be a dream for many players who never owned it on console. The timeline is long, though, and Bungie has a lot of trust to rebuild

Would you return to Destiny for restored content? And would you play the original Destiny on PC?

Some call it obsession, I call it fine tuning
