Battlefield Studios has responded to player complaints about some strange looking Battlefield 6 cosmetics. GameSpot's Eddie Makuch reports that the studio admitted mistakes, but did not address suspicions that generative AI was used to make them

One skin for the character McNeil has the word SECURITY misspelled as SECUTY. The studio said the known error should have been acknowledged quickly, admitted that it erodes trust, and promised a fix in the Season 5 Phase 2 patch in November

Another skin, called Midnight Mirage, features a character carrying five pistols. The studio said that one was intentional, a playful nod to the excess of action films. The Battlefield Intel account had flagged both skins on 13 October

The studio says it is reviewing its internal processes to tighten quality control. Separately, Xbox business strategist Brandon Stirrup posted on 19 October that AI use is now standard across industries, which suggests the wider debate is far from settled

Owning up to mistakes is the right move, and fixing the typo should be easy. The silence on AI will keep the questions coming, though. Players increasingly want to know how the content they pay for is made

Should studios disclose when AI is used to make paid cosmetics? And does it matter to you either way?
