Drop any ideas you have for our community in this topic .

Our forum software is based on SMF so if there are any mods on their website take a look and give feedback

New theme darker than this one
Somewhere between inspired and overwhelmed

Cannot disagree with that. Time will tell on this one. ::)

Aaron

Couldn't agree more. Thanks for that

IronWolf

There is something right about that. What I find interesting is what it chooses not to include as much as what it does.

Glad this came up
It's not a bug, it's a feature

Marnie

That is the nuanced version of it. I like threads like this because people come at the same thing from different angles.

Curious what others make of it

TeaAndCode72

That is the honest assessment and people do not want to hear it. Interested to see where this goes. :(
Cashback on everything or it didn't happen

Phil

That is my view too if I am being straight. Experience in big games counts for a huge amount and younger squads often find that out the hard way.

We will see how it plays out

Turned out alright in the end doing it that way. Good luck with it

Not sure that is the whole picture. I will keep following it

VoidSentinel74

That is pretty much what I found too. Event viewer is your friend on Windows, most people never look at it.

Start there and see if it makes a difference

Sequence87

Agree, and the implications are bigger than most people realise. The incentive structures in media mean certain angles get more coverage than they deserve.

I will keep following it. ::)

SlowSocket

That actually makes sense to me. Might have to look into that more
All original content unless stated

TomTiz

That is one way of looking at it. Could not agree more.

Nice one
Always open to a good discussion

Mike

Hmm, not convinced. That is the thing isn't it.

Thanks for that. :'(

Weekly themed threads could help keep things moving without needing loads of moderation. Stuff like Show Us Your Setup, Tiny Wins This Week, or an unpopular opinions thread that stays friendly

People often join for one topic and stay because they accidentally become regulars elsewhere

Dylan38

Maybe add a member spotlight once a month

Nothing intense, just a few questions and a chance to discover people outside their usual sections

Forums feel more alive when usernames slowly become actual personalities

Jackson77

Could be fun to have community challenges with low stakes rewards

Not prizes necessarily, more silly badges or titles

People will absolutely spend three days competing for a badge shaped like a potato

MiguelCardozo

One thing that helps smaller communities is giving people reasons to return

A rotating question on the homepage or a poll that changes every few days can do more than adding ten new boards

Neil57

Tiny suggestion but archive old announcements and keep current ones super short

Nothing makes a forum feel abandoned faster than seeing news posts from eighteen months ago sitting at the top

AEWCallum93

A recommendations section could work if it stays broad

Books, games, apps, films, weird websites, local food spots

People secretly love being the person who introduces something good

Merchant89

Would not overcomplicate things early on

Half the dead communities I have seen had twenty empty categories and zero conversations

Better to have five busy boards than fifty quiet ones

Cole_25

A monthly community vote on something random could be entertaining

Best snack, worst movie sequel, most overrated invention

Not everything needs to solve a problem

StoneCold_Mike

Maybe create a section for projects and progress logs

People like posting updates when they know someone might notice them

Also creates natural repeat visits

NightHarbour91

Bit of a weird one but a forum history thread where people post old screenshots, old internet memories, ancient usernames and regrets

People become unexpectedly chatty when nostalgia appears

AJStyles

If there are enough active people, community game nights or watch threads can work

Not even live events necessarily, just everyone reacting in one topic over an evening
Press F to pay respects

EdgeRatedR

A newcomer thread always helps

Some people lurk because introducing themselves feels awkward and one dedicated topic lowers that barrier a lot
Press F to pay respects

DarkMatter23

Add reaction variety carefully

Too many and every post becomes a competition for the funniest response instead of actual discussion

That said, one mildly sarcastic reaction option always seems to get used
git commit -m "fixed everything"

Rapid Crossing

Could do a build together thread where everyone contributes to one shared thing over time

Story, playlist, guide, photo collection, anything collaborative tends to create inside jokes

Brett42

Would love to see occasional admin transparency posts

Not formal reports, just quick updates on what is changing and what ideas are being tested

Makes the place feel looked after

Dylan

Forum currency systems always sound amazing until somebody ends up with twelve million coins and nothing to spend them on

If you do gamify anything keep it lightweight and mostly cosmetic
My team is always one signing away

NatureBoy86

One board specifically for low effort chat could actually improve quality elsewhere

Contain the chaos instead of trying to stop it

People always need somewhere to post random thoughts

Di82

Suggestion box is great but maybe occasionally circle back and say which ideas got accepted, rejected, or parked

Nothing encourages suggestions more than people seeing someone actually read them
