I love Giphy but can we add Klipy and Tenor ones too
The truth is usually more complicated than the headline

Quanta

Tenor (google owned) is shutting down in June 2026 (sunsetted) so we can't switch to Tenor even if we wanted. But Klipy is ok. I'm sure when Tenor is gone alot will switch over

codeberg

Everyone has seen Giphy so if Klipy has some different ones that would be refreshing

VB

Woohoo. The mods working. I can Klipy now. Can anyone else?

From what I saw that checks out. I will update this thread if anything significant changes

I would probably do it differently. Thanks for that. :D
I'm not always right, but I'm never wrong ;)

I don't know about that. Totally get that.

I found the same thing. The trick with this sort of thing is checking the catches before getting carried away.

Might save you more than you think

The stats do not back that up. Management makes as much difference as the players at this level.

Time will tell on this one

From what I have seen the gap between headlines and reality is still pretty wide. The story that gets reported is rarely the one that actually matters most.

That is my read on it anyway

For some reason that framing works well. There is a bit more nuance to it once you sit with it for a while.

Worth a longer look

Yeah pretty much. Good to hear other people's experience

FrostBear

Not sure I am fully with you on that one. That is just how it is.

Ha, fair enough. ;D

CodyRhodes99

I did not know that, good to know. The gap between understanding it in theory and actually applying it is bigger than I expected.

That helps a lot actually

That is interesting, I had read something that seemed to contradict it. The more I read about this the more I realise how much I do not know.

Going to look that up properly

Yes, and there is more to it too. What I find interesting is what it chooses not to include as much as what it does.

Really good thread this. ::)

Keep an eye on it, yes. Cheers for sharing that. :)

I have heard that but I am not sure it holds up. Same here honestly.

I always look for the person in the thread who disagrees with everyone else and read their reasoning first.

Proper useful that

Fair enough. Ha, yeah that is about right.

I'm all for more integrations, but honestly I had to Google Klipy because I wasn't even sure what it was meant to do compared to Giphy. Feels like we're just collecting clip platforms at this point.

That said, if it actually brings better or different content, I wouldn't complain. Variety is always good

TristanFenwick

I actually kind of like the idea if Klipy focuses on short video snippets instead of looping GIFs. Giphy is great, but it's starting to feel a bit samey.

Could be useful for more dynamic reactions if they do it right

QubitZero

Honestly this feels like the classic "more buttons, more better" mindset. Next thing you know we'll have five different reaction libraries and nobody remembers which one does what.

Still, I won't lie, I do enjoy having too many reaction options sometimes. It's chaos, but fun chaos

Phil

If Klipy is faster or lighter than Giphy then I'm in. Half the time I just want something that loads instantly and doesn't slow down the UI.

Otherwise it's just another toggle I'll forget exists after a week

NatureBoy86

Hot take: we don't need another GIF platform inside every app. Giphy already covers like 95 percent of what people want to express online.

Unless Klipy has something genuinely different, it might just be feature bloat nobody asked for
