What half finished project is currently lurking in your house?

[Hannah_12]

Almost every home has one. A room that was half painted months ago, a shelf that never went up, a garden project abandoned after the first weekend or a bookcase still in its flat pack box. Life gets busy, motivation fades or a missing part stops everything in its tracks. Before long, the unfinished project becomes part of the furniture

I have a half tiled splashback in my kitchen. I started it during a burst of enthusiasm in spring, ran out of tiles and never bought more. Now there is a neat line of tiles that suddenly stops, followed by bare plaster. Visitors politely pretend not to notice

Sometimes half finished projects are a source of guilt, and sometimes they become a running family joke. Some people have a project that has been unfinished for so long that finishing it now would feel strange. Others have a whole list of them

Maybe sharing them here will give someone the push they need to finally finish something. Or at least reassure everyone that they are not alone

Half a fence painted. The paint tin is still in the shed, probably solid by now. Next door has started asking when I will finish their side
