Summer tends to be good build season: longer days, motivation to have a machine ready before autumn, and sales around this period can surface good component deals.

What are you working on? A new main rig, a server build, a small form factor project, a NAS, something unusual? Where are you in the process and what decisions are you still making?

Aura49

Planning a NAS build for home media and backup. Been putting it off for two years because the software configuration felt intimidating. Finally committed and am in the component selection phase

CodyRhodes

Small form factor build for a secondary machine. Main constraint is finding a case that fits my PSU requirement and still has reasonable airflow

Kieron78

Upgrading my main rig GPU. Everything else is still solid but the graphics card is showing its age for the games I am playing

MurkyVoyager

First build ever. Am doing it right because I want to understand what I am actually buying rather than just assembling parts
Posted from a machine that definitely needs a clean install

RomanReigns02

Home server for self-hosting. Partly privacy motivation, partly wanting to control my own data, partly just interested in the project

Hitman04

The thing I wish I had known on my last build is that cable management is worth taking seriously before you put the GPU in, not after

Falcon

Waiting to see what the next generation GPU release does to current generation pricing before committing
I read every reply. Even the bad ones.
